Whetūmaiangi began in 2020 – Skye Kimura working as a Consultant of Te Ao Māori to mainstream communications agencies, government agencies and corporates. After a three year stint building a successful Māori cultural consultancy and brand design agency as CEO, Skye returned to Whetūmaiangi and to her original kaupapa driven values with a new vision: Māori realise their full potential.

We, the Whetūmaiangi whānau, are like-minded in our approach to our mahi;  share common values; and bring diverse experience and skill sets to the table. Ours is a culture of genuine collaboration that embraces our extended whānau – clients, partners, and specialist providers.

Our name was gifted to us by Hon Peeni Henare, who at that time was the Minister for Whānau Ora and Assoc Health (Māori).
